Alex Perry hits the Runway with Extra Vision, Thanks to his Latest Eyewear Range!

Wednesday 1st of March 2012 was the first day of ’The A-Team’. The beginning of Autumn and the launch of the Alex Perry 2012 Collection, exclusive to Specsavers.

A dramatic range that sees Alex explore a mysterious and daring side of fashion with seductive Victorian and Oriental influences.

The new ultra feminine range includes 10 additional dark and decadent frames, together with one limited edition striking red frame, again showing that Alex Perry has what it takes to make women feel glamorous. See beloe five of them, the rest you will need to see for yourself in store!

Alex Perry said, “This new collection is sexy, dramatic and powerful. For this second range I wanted to add a sense of mystery to the range. Much like my dresses, these frames showcase the decadent side of fashion, adding something fresh and diverse to the Alex Perry 2012 Collection

To celebrate this launch, a group of media, celebrities and guests (me being one of them lol) attended an event at Sydney’s Marble Bar, located in the Hilton Hotel. Guests included lovely Megan Gale, Sarah Murdock, Kerri-Anne Kennerley, Matt Young, Rebecca Lau to name a few of the star studded line up.

Alex Perry delievered a great and entertaining speech to welcome us all and give us a run down on his range as well as a sneak preview on his new commercial.

Then lights went down, music went on and a fashion parade commenced showcasing sleek haired, scarlet red lip wearing models with AP glasses, AP dresses and a whole lot of AP strutting! It was was a triple wammy!

After the catwalk, Alex and his gorgeous models posed for a total ‘Next Top Model’ pose.

The event felt like a true PR event, launching a great venture, a product, celebrating something exciting. It had a purpose, a good crowd, great food, Photobooth for our entertainment. It ticked all the boxes for a great event in Sydney’s ‘It’ circle. Well done to the great PR team behind this event. I know myself and a whole lot of other people had a ball!

Thanks for the amazing voucher as well. All guests received a voucher for two FREE pairs of glass from Specsavers. Lenses included! I have my eye on the red pair!

Myer executes Autumn/Winter 2012 with a star studded line up of models and designers

Myer launcehed their 2012 Autumn/Winter campaign this week in Melbourne, Australia.

A star studded line up of supermodels saw Jennier Hawkins, Jessica Hart and Kris Smith strut their Aussie attitude down the catwalk for an array of media and guests in Myer’s historic Mural Hall.

Sublime floaty cream and black silk gowns with embellished shoulders were a highlight of Perth designer Aurelio Costarella’s collection.

Lace, leather and faux fur added a luxe feel to the new season, working perfectly to warm up a winter look or as individual layering pieces.

Sass & bide designer Sarah-Jane Clarke says layering is a practical trend for transeasonal dressing.

“Layering is one of the key looks for winter,” she said.

Coats come in all shapes and sizes this winter from bomber styles to mid-thigh and knee lengths, but it is the colour that will complete a look.

Popping shades of mustard, blue, orange and emerald will brighten even the darkest winter’s day.

While the focus was primarily on female fashion there was some inspiration for the blokes as well.

Ok this is it. March has officially ticked over and called the shots for Autumn to begin, which makes this Spring/Summer 2012/2013 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week post all the relevant! Back to sunshine aka Fashion Week eeeeek!

Cult label Ksubi, celebrity favourite Camilla, Zimmermann, Lisa Ho, Toni Maticevski, Aurelio Costarella Jayson Brunsdon, , Ellery and Carl Kapp  will be amongst the line‐ up of designers showcasing their Spring/Summer 2012/13 Collections at Sydney’s

Overseas Passenger Terminal, April 30 to May 4, 2012- the next best thing on the fashion calender!

“MBFWA is a fantastic opportunity for emerging Australian designers to join already well established designers in showcasing their creations not just in venues that people expect but in venues and spaces that will reflect the diversity and vibrancy of the Australian fashion scene. The shows, presentations and locations demonstrate that MBFWA has a flavour and style that can more than hold its own around the world” says Gavin Allen, General Marketing, Mercedes-Benz Australia/Pacific.

Other brands that are talked about to make their mark is ‘Romance was Born’, ‘Johanna Johnson’ and for the first time, iconic Australian brand, Oroton will also debut on the runway at MBFWA for the first time, demonstrating the brand is asskilled at creating Ready to Wear women’s wear as well as their well known luxury accessories- there you go!

Who to look out for? New talent ‘Watson x Watson’ are set to make their first Fashion Week debut, surely to excite international buyers and media.

Trend Alert: Positive Shine and hair that could be mine?

Who likes shine? I love shine! Shine in my hair anyways. Not on my face! That infact should be ‘shimmer’ than you very much! Back to hair shine. Nothing makes me feel more sexy than having that ‘it’ blowdry where your hair is soft, silky and the light bounces off it. ANy outfit goes with a great blow dry. Even track pants. Ok…maybe not.

The hair look at the Blumarine AW/12 show at Milan Fashion Week was positively shining so to speak. That was “The Look” they were going for!

The hair was styled in to a modern glamorous look that complemented the metallic techno details of the Blumarine A/W 12 collection.
